A Century of Faith

Our story

Saint Seraphim of Sarov Orthodox Cathedral was founded over a century ago to serve the spiritual needs of Orthodox Christian families in the region. What began as a humble mission gathered around a small community has grown into a vibrant, diverse parish committing every day to witness the truth of the Gospel.

The parish today is a microcosm of Orthodoxy in America, with her members coming from many different ethnic traditions: Greek, Arabic, Romanian, Serbian, Macedonian, Eritrean, and Americans from all walks of life. The parish has also been blessed with many converts, who find in the one Holy Apostolic Church the fullness and purity of the Christian faith.

Liturgical Worship

Maintaining the absolute beauty, solemnity, and organic reverence of the Divine Liturgy, preserving Orthodox liturgical arts, chanting, and theological hymnody.

Spiritual Formation

Nurturing spiritual growth through historical catechism (learning the faith), frequent sacraments, scripture study, and following the ascetic counsels of the Saints.

Community & Fellowship

Building an authentic Christian parish rooted in unconditional love, mutual support, continuous hospitality, and dedicated outreach programs to the local community.

What to expect
when you visit

Reverent Divine Liturgy

Our primary worship occurs at Sunday Divine Liturgy (10:00 AM), preceded by Hours at 9:30 AM. Liturgical services are conducted entirely in English, featuring traditional rich acapella singing.

Liturgical Order & Posture

Orthodox worship is highly participatory, engaging all senses. We pray standing during most parts of the Liturgy to show reverence. However, feel free to sit as you need.

Respectful & Modest Attire

We encourage visitors to wear modest, clean, and comfortable clothing suitable for a sacred house of prayer. Many women choose to cover their heads in accordance with traditional practice, but it is not required.

Warm Fellowship Post-Service

Following Divine Liturgy, please join us in the parish hall for Coffee Hour. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet our clergy, ask questions, and share a meal.
