Internship Fund

With the blessing of Archbishop Benjamin, the Parish Council has decided to extend Fr. Theodor and his family’s internship in our parish for one more year, ending in the summer of 2017.

Our intern, Fr. Theodor and his wife Matushka Hanne and their two sons, Simon and Filip come from Norway and belong to the The Patriarchal Exarchate for Orthodox Parishes of Russian Tradition in Western Europe. They came to the US in order to study at St. Vladimir’s Seminary from which Fr. Theodor graduated in 2015. He has since been on loan to the Diocese of the West (OCA) and our parish. He and his family is deeply involved and committed to our Parish.

When the internship is over Fr. Theodor and his family plan to move back to Norway and pastor one of several mission parishes in need of a priest.

Parishes in Norway are not big enough to support their own priests, let alone an intern. By supporting this internship you will not only support our parish, give a young priest and his family much needed parish experience, but you will support a growing Orthodox Church and its mission in a predominantly secular country. Please pray and consider in what way you can help. The budget for the internship is $40.000.

Support can be given by check to the parish marked «Internship Fund» or by using Paypal below.

Thank you for your prayers and generosity.

The Svanes have extended an invitation to a special pilgrimage to Norway in 2018 to donors who give more than $900. Travel expenses for the pilgrimage will come in addition. Please write Fr. Theodor for further details.
